• Your natural poses - not just the classic photo poses

Shots that captured natural emotions also work ideally - happiness, deep feeling, joy. These spontaneous moments translate into a far richer painted portrait, full of life and authenticity.

Choice of frame and composition

The most popular are portraits showing the couple in a close-up where the newlyweds’ faces are visible. Such an image beautifully conveys the feelings and bond between the couple. Portraits in which the newlyweds stand against a characteristic setting, for example the place of the ceremony, look equally beautiful.

The choice depends on the couple’s vision and aesthetic preferences. Both intimate close-ups and wider frames can become a unique keepsake.

Styles of wedding portraits

In my studio I most often work in three directions:

Classic, portrait-focused

A portrait concentrated on the faces. You at the centre, a calm background, a classic composition. The most classic choice, reliable.

Composition with surroundings

A portrait that shows you in a specific place - at the altar, outdoors, in front of the church, in another point that means something to you. It gives the portrait context.

Symbolic

A portrait with an unusual element - silhouettes against the sky, a bird’s-eye view, a play of shadows. This is for couples who want something other than a classic portrait. An alternative is also live painting of wedding guests - the portrait is created during the reception, and the guests receive it the very same evening.

Creative solutions and unconventional frames

Some couples decide on more creative solutions, such as photos with an unusual frame - a shot from above or over the shoulder, where you can see the emotions but also the beautiful surroundings. An interesting idea is also photos in which the couple walk together, looking into the distance, symbolising their shared future. Such images are ideal for commissioning a wedding portrait, because they carry the viewer deep into the story and emotions of the day.

Informal and natural portraits

If you prefer more informal portraits, you can choose photos from an outdoor session, in which the couple looks natural, in a loose, relaxed atmosphere. Such a portrait will be full of life and energy, and at the same time unique. It shows the couple in a natural setting, often smiling and happy.

How the ordering process works

The process of ordering a wedding portrait may seem complicated, but in reality it’s very simple, as long as you follow a few key steps.

1. Contact and photos

You write to me, send a few photos and a short description (when the wedding was, what the mood was, what you want). I reply within 48 hours. An initial consultation lets us discuss all the details and expectations for the future portrait.

2. Quote

An individual quote, depending on the format, style, level of detail and number of people in the portrait. I send you a price range.

3. Acceptance and deposit

If the quote suits you, a deposit to start (usually 30%) and we settle the deadline.

4. Presenting your expectations and the composition sketch

You present your expectations - the canvas size, the painting style (realistic, romantic, more artistic), and the deadline. The more precisely you describe what you want to achieve, the better the end result. We can discuss details of the colour palette, the atmosphere of the image or additional elements. I send you a sketch - the composition, the main elements, the arrangement. This is the moment for corrections.

5. The portrait itself

I paint digitally, in Procreate. The work takes from two to four weeks.

6. Final approval

I send you a low-resolution preview. Small corrections are possible - bigger changes call for a separate conversation.

7. The final file or print

I send you a high-resolution file or handle the printing myself. The rest of the payment is before shipping.

What you get at the end

Depending on what we agree:

• A digital file for printing in the chosen format
• A fine-art print on art paper
• A print on canvas with the option of stretching it on a frame
• Full service - from the file to a finished, framed portrait

Everything with a licence for personal use. For commercial uses (e.g. advertising the wedding as a photographer) a separate licence is needed.

Format - what to choose

The most common formats:

• 30x40 cm - a small portrait, good for a chest of drawers
• 50x70 cm - a classic format for the wall above the sofa
• 70x100 cm - a large portrait, the focal point of a room
• 100x150 cm - very large, for couples with big living rooms

Remember that the format is tied to where it will hang. It’s better to measure the wall before you choose the size.
