Live painting
at your wedding.

I paint your guests live during the reception. Every guest who wants one walks away with a keepsake they take home - and you remember the day for years.

Live

Wedding live painting in motion.

Why live painting at a wedding

Wedding live painting
your guests remember.

Most wedding attractions leave with the last guest. Live painting leaves something behind - every guest walks home with their own A5 portrait, painted on the spot, not a shared prop that ends up in a drawer.

Live painting at a wedding is an attraction that draws genuine attention and leaves people with something to remember. Art made in front of them slows the room down in the best way - guests watch the process, get involved, wait for their portrait.

A portrait is more than just an image. Live art at a wedding becomes a keepsake for years, reminding people of a specific evening, a specific feeling, the people who were there.

Benefits of live painting

Four reasons couples
choose live painting.

Wondering what makes a wedding feel different from the others your guests have been to? Here is what you actually get with live painting.

  1. 01

    Personalization

Every portrait is made with attention to detail - the face, the character, a small narrative touch. A real gift for your guests, not another generic favor.

  2. 02

    Unforgettable atmosphere

Art made in front of an audience changes the room. It underlines the special character of the day - guests remember it for years.

  3. 03

    Fast and precise

A portrait takes a few minutes - so every guest who wants one has a real chance to receive their own illustration during the wedding.

  4. 04

    Premium quality

Professional execution, high-grade materials. An attraction at the top end of the scale - over a decade of practice shows in every detail.

Want a portrait from a photo too?

Beyond painting guests live, I also paint wedding portraits from photos.

A portrait of the couple to present ceremonially, or a thank-you portrait for parents - painted in advance from photos. That's a separate service, prepared ahead of time, independent of the live painting at the reception itself.

Keepsake

Live painting leaves
behind beautiful memories.

Every guest will remember the day differently - but each one will have something that reminds them of it. A portrait they took home from your wedding.

They put it above a desk, show it to friends, frame it. The wedding does not end on Sunday morning - it stays in your guests' homes for years.

How collaboration works

Five steps: from first email
to the wedding day.

Everything written down, everything agreed in advance. No invoice surprises, no silence about the stages.

  1. 01

    Inquiry and consultation

You send the form with your wedding date. Together we work out how to fit live painting into your timeline - the character of the day, what you expect, and how many hours you want me with you.

  2. 02

    Contract and date booking

Once details are set, we sign a contract - fully transparent terms. A deposit secures the date and lets the rest of the planning move ahead without stress.

  3. 03

    Pre-wedding preparation

A few weeks before the wedding I prepare the materials - personalized frames, graphic elements matched to your style, and optionally a portrait of the bride and groom for a ceremonial gift moment.

  4. 04

    On-site delivery

On the wedding day I set up my station and start painting portraits live. Every guest can watch the process, take part, and walk away with their own portrait - a keepsake they take home.

  5. 05

    Post-wedding portraits

If a guest does not get a chance to sit for a live portrait, I finish their portrait afterwards from a photo and deliver it within the agreed timeline - on paper or digitally. Nobody is left without a keepsake.

Presence and timing

Wedding live painting for as long as you want.

I can be with you for a few hours, I can stay for the whole wedding - we build the plan together, matched to what you have planned. Your organizer or wedding planner usually knows the best moment - we work it out together.

I check date availability after the inquiry form. The earlier you write, the easier it is to lock in - spring and summer weekend dates can book six months in advance.

Service area: Poland only. Live painting requires physical presence - I serve all regions and major cities across Poland (Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Tarnow, Rzeszow, Katowice, Gdansk, Poznan), but I do not travel internationally for weddings.

Pricing

Wedding live painting quote.

Pricing depends on how many hours I am with you, the number of portraits, and the venue location. Every wedding is different - which is why I quote individually, tied to your specific date and plan.

You get a concrete quote after the inquiry form with your wedding date. Reply within 48 hours.

Use cases

Where wedding live painting works best.

  1. 01

    Cocktail hour attraction

I paint guests in the welcome area, between the ceremony and the meal. They have time and good spirits, so portraits get made before you even sit down.

  2. 02

    Couples among your guests

Instead of single faces, I paint guests in pairs - engaged couples, married ones, two close friends. One A5 card, two people, a shared keepsake to take home.

  3. 03

    Couple portrait to present

I paint the two of you beforehand from photos, and you present the finished portrait ceremonially on the day - a gift from parents or part of the venue decor.

  4. 04

    Fun beyond the dance floor

Live painting gives guests who are not dancing something to do. They come over, watch the process and wait their turn - it becomes its own part of the reception.

  5. 05

    Post-wedding portrait from a photo

If someone does not get their turn during the party, I finish their portrait later from a photo and send it on paper or digitally. No one goes home empty-handed.

  6. 06

    Wedding with international guests

Getting married in Poland with English-speaking guests? I look after them in English, and the painting itself works the same in any language.

Frequently asked

Wedding live painting - questions.

The questions couples ask most often. Missing something? Write to me.

01 Do you offer wedding live painting outside Poland? +

No - wedding live painting is Poland-only. The format depends on me being physically at your venue with paper and supplies, and I limit myself to Polish weddings so I can keep the quality consistent. If you are getting married in Poland and want English-speaking communication throughout, that works perfectly fine. For destination weddings abroad, I would point you toward a local live painter.

02 How much does wedding live painting cost? +

Price depends on how many hours I am at the wedding, how many portraits you want painted, the venue location, and whether you also commission a pre-wedding portrait of the couple for a ceremonial reveal. Concrete quote within 48 hours of filling out the form with your date. Standard: 30% deposit secures the date, balance after the event. Simple contract, no surprises.

03 How long are you at the wedding? +

I can stay 3 hours and paint a selected group of guests, or stay through the whole reception and paint anyone who walks up. We design the plan together based on what you want - a cocktail hour activation, an all-night attraction, or a single highlighted moment. Details get nailed down on the brief call before the date.

04 Can you paint the couple in advance instead of guests? +

Yes. The couple portrait is painted ahead of the wedding from your photos and a short consultation. It can be ceremonially handed over on the day - often as a parent or witness gift - and it doubles as venue decor. Some couples combine both: a couple portrait revealed during the reception plus live guest painting throughout the night. Two completely different deliverables, one event.

05 What format are the guest portraits? +

A5 paper portraits, painted on watercolor paper. Each portrait is signed and dated, and guests take theirs home the same night. Portraits dry quickly enough to handle by the end of the reception. If you want a different format - larger pieces or a single group composition instead of individual portraits - we discuss it on the brief and adjust the plan.

06 What languages do you work in? +

Polish and English, both fluent for project communication. Briefs, calls, contracts, email - either works. Most of my international clients are publishers and brands in the EU, UK, and US, and English is the default for those projects. If your team prefers Polish, we switch. Contracts can be issued bilingually if your legal team needs it for review.

07 How do I get in touch and how fast do you reply? +

Fill out the inquiry form on the contact page with what you need, your timeline, and any references. I reply within 48 hours - usually faster on weekdays - with either a scoped quote or a short list of clarifying questions. No automated funnel, no nurture sequence. You write to me, I write back. That is the whole process.

08 Which services are available internationally vs Poland-only? +

Illustration work - books, covers, editorial, advertising, packaging - is fully remote and available worldwide. Live painting - wedding and event - is Poland-only because the format requires me on-site. If you are an international brand hosting an event in Poland, that works. If you need live painting abroad, I would refer you to a local artist rather than overpromise.

09 Who are you and what is your background? +

I am Anna Karwala, an illustrator based in Poland with a fine arts degree and over a decade of professional practice. I work on children's books, editorial illustration, advertising commissions, and live painting at weddings and corporate events. My studio is small on purpose - the illustration work is entirely my own hand, no ghost-illustrators, and the portfolio is the work I do. For bigger live-painting events I bring in a small, hand-picked team of painters so everyone gets a portrait, but the studio and its standards stay mine.

Got a project? Let's talk.

I make art that stays - with emotion and attention in every project. Children's book illustration delivered worldwide, wedding and B2B event live painting across Poland - every project starts the same way: an inquiry, a conversation, a decision. Write to me directly. The Bujnowłosa studio is me and a decade-plus of practice.
