Company visual identity - original design by Anna Karwala

Identity · for brands and companies

Identity that sets you apart.

Logo, palette, fonts - together they form your brand's face. It is the first thing a client sees and remembers. I build the full set, the kind nobody else gets to share.

Why a logo

The most distinctive trait of your brand.

A logo should be the most distinctive and unique trait of your company - recognizable from a distance, flexible enough to fit different situations and carriers. From the website to your own company merchandise.

Visual identity is mostly built for companies, events, organizations, campaigns or product collections. The most important element is the logo - the symbol (a graphic mark) plus the logotype (the name set in a specific font). Together they form a mark people remember.

A well-designed identity includes a brand book with usage rules, a color palette, and a font set. You can add extending elements - brand hero, iconography, patterns. The biggest strength of an original identity is its uniqueness - tailored to your needs, confident that nobody else has the same one.

What's included

Logo, palette, fonts, brand book.

Three pillars plus a brand book. On their own each does little; together they build a brand no one can copy. We size the scope to your brand stage and budget.

  1. 01

    Logo - symbol and logotype

The graphic mark plus the name set in an original font. Together they form the most important identity element - what people recognize you by from across the room.

  2. 02

    Logo variants

Color, monochrome, light background, dark background, horizontal, vertical, square. Every use case has its variant - no improvising later.

  3. 03

    Color palette

From two to six colors - each with print codes (CMYK, Pantone) and screen codes (HEX, RGB). Primary plus accent, the hierarchy is clear.

  4. 04

    Typography

One or two typefaces, with a usage hierarchy - headlines, body, accents. If the fonts are paid, you get info on licensing. Some projects come with a custom font.

  5. 05

    Brand book

A document describing how to use the identity - allowed modifications, forbidden variations, clear space, minimum logo size. Your designer or printer knows what to do.

  6. 06

    Brand hero and additional elements

Optional brand character, patterns, illustrations, iconography. Everything that extends the identity beyond the logo and gives you flexibility in communication.

For whom

Company, event, collection - everyone needs a mark.

Companies - from solo practices to larger businesses: a new company starts with a clean slate, we get it right from day one. An existing company does a rebrand - a fresh start for an old brand, keeping what works.

Events and festivals: each edition with its own identity, consistent with the parent brand. Posters, materials, social media, swag - all from one set, without reinventing the wheel each time.

Organizations, foundations, campaigns: a social campaign, a grant project, a non-profit organization - identity that builds credibility and helps communicate with different audience groups.

Product collections: a limited collection, a product line, a sub-category within a larger brand. Identity that communicates this is something separate - while still fitting the parent brand.

How collaboration works

How a visual identity comes to life, together.

4 steps, clear milestones, no surprises. From the first email to the full file set ready for further work.

  1. 01

    You send an inquiry

Describe the brand - what you do, for whom, the values you want to communicate. Attach materials if you have them - inspirations, previous attempts, a moodboard.

  2. 02

We agree on details and quote

Scope of identity (logo only or full system), number of variants, schedule. I tailor the quote to what you specifically need at this stage of the brand.

  3. 03

    I present concepts for approval

I show a few graphic directions for logo, palette and typography. Together we pick the one that best captures the brand. We refine details before I move on.

  4. 04

I finalize the system and deliver files

I assemble the full file set (vectors, rasters, color codes, fonts with licenses) plus the brand book. You get everything needed to work with the brand from here.

Frequently asked

Scope, files, collaboration.

The most common questions from clients ordering an identity. Missing something? Write to me.

01 Can I order just a logo, without the palette and fonts? +

Yes - it is a common starting point. But I recommend thinking about the palette and fonts either right away or in the near future. A logo alone, without a consistent palette and typography, does not build full recognition. If budget limits the scope now, we can plan extensions for later.

02 What files do I get for the finished identity? +

The full set: vectors (SVG, AI, PDF) for scaling without quality loss, rasters (PNG, JPG) for social media and web. Color codes in HEX, RGB, CMYK and Pantone. Fonts with files and commercial-use licenses (if paid, I point you to where to buy). Brand book in PDF.

03 What is a brand book and why do I need it? +

A brand book is the instruction manual for your brand. It describes how to use the logo (clear space, minimum size, allowed backgrounds), which variations are permitted, which forbidden, how to combine colors, how to use fonts. With it, every person working with the brand - designer, printer, social media manager - knows what to do. Without a brand book, a brand goes off the rails faster than you think.

04 How many logo variants do I get in the set? +

A standard set: the main logotype (color, monochrome, light background, dark background), horizontal version, vertical, square, and the symbol alone (for favicons, profile pictures). Usually 8-12 variants total. For larger brands more can be designed - special editions, holiday versions, regional variants.

05 Do you also design marketing materials (business cards, letterhead)? +

Yes, it is a commonly added package - business cards, letterhead, envelopes, templates for social media, presentations, email. Quoted separately, tailored to what you specifically need. We can start with the basics and expand as the brand grows.

06 Who owns the rights to the finished identity? +

By default I transfer full economic rights to the logo and identity elements to you. That means the brand is yours - you can modify it, register it with the patent office, sell it with the company. We sign a contract before work starts, so everyone knows where they stand.

Use cases

Where it works.

  1. 01

    Consistent website

Logo, palette and fonts carried onto your site - it looks the same as your card and social feed. A client knows the brand before reading a word.

  2. 02

    Recognizable social profile

Avatar from the symbol, post templates, colors and fonts straight from the brand book. Your feed looks coherent, not a jumble of random graphics off free templates.

  3. 03

    Product packaging and labels

Brand identity carried onto a physical product - logo, colors and patterns on the box, label and tag. Consistent with the rest of the brand, print-ready in CMYK.

  4. 04

    Trademark registration

You get full economic rights to the logo plus vector files - ready to register the mark at the patent office and protect it from copycats.

  5. 05

    Kids, education, culture brands

Visual identity design with an illustrative character and an optional brand hero - for a kids' brand, publisher, cultural institution or festival. Warm and human, not corporate.

  6. 06

    Solo business, day one

Freelancer, expert, small service business - a recognizable mark from day one. Original logo design that never sits waiting in some template catalog.

Good to know

Before you ask.

01How much does a visual identity or just a logo cost?+

I can't give a figure upfront, because every brand needs a different scope. The quote depends on whether you want just a logo or the full system - variants, color palette, fonts, brand book - plus the deadline and any extra materials. Fill in the form, describe the brand, and I reply within 48 hours with a concrete number. Net prices, VAT invoice, and for larger scopes the payment can be split.

02How is a visual identity different from just a logo?+

A logo is the mark - a symbol plus the name set in a specific font. A brand identity is the whole system around it: color palette, typography, patterns, icons, usage rules written down in a brand book. You'll recognize a logo on its own, but it's the consistent palette and fonts that make a brand look the same on the site, on social media and in print. The logo is the foundation; the visual system is the whole house.

03How long does designing a visual identity take?+

I won't pull a date out of thin air. It depends on whether we do just the logo or the full set with a brand book, how many variants you want, and how many approval rounds it takes to settle on a direction. We set the schedule together at the start, with milestones - concepts, sign-off, final files. After you send the form I reply within 48 hours with a realistic timeline matched to the scope, not one promised to impress.

04Do you do rebranding if the brand already exists?+

Yes, rebranding is a common job. We take an existing brand and give it a fresh start, but keep what already works and what clients recognize - I don't overturn everything just for the sake of change. We agree on what stays, what gets refreshed, and what I design from scratch. You get a new, coherent brand identity plus a brand book, and we can swap out old materials in stages, as the brand is ready.

05I already have a logo - can you build it into a full visual system?+

Of course. If you have a logo you like, I won't make you throw it out - I can build it into a full visual system. I choose a color palette, typography, patterns and extra elements so everything works with your mark, and I write the rules into a brand book. If the logo just needs a refresh, we do that gently. First, though, I'll ask whether the logo really carries the brand - sometimes it's worth fixing the foundation.

06How is a custom identity different from a ready-made logo from a generator?+

A ready-made logo from a generator or template catalog gets bought by others too - you end up with a brand that's a near-twin of ten more. My brand identity is built from scratch for you: I design the logo myself, choose colors and fonts to fit the brand's character, and some projects get a custom font or brand hero. You won't find it in any catalog, and I transfer the economic rights to you, so the mark is yours alone.
